COASTGUARDS were alerted to help five people and a dog on a paddleboard off Hengistbury Head.
RNLI Mudeford launched a lifeboat after a call from a concerned member of the public at 4.45pm yesterday.
They found the multi person paddleboard around two miles south east of Hengistbury Head.
A spokesman for Mudeford lifeboat said: "Once on scene the RNLI Mudeford crew spoke with the water sports enthusiasts and determined they were all fine and needed no assistance.
"The paddleboarders were all being responsible, wearing wetsuits and had a hand held VHF Radio with them. RNLI Mudeford then stood down and returned to RNLI Lifeboat boathouse."
