There have been calls for more powers and funding to local authorities to decide on local measures and to implement test and trace to decrease the infection rate of COVID19.

Councillors from different parties, including the two main ones, have made such calls.

People who have been in contact with someone who tested positive need to isolate, but they also need an income.

The government provided millions of pounds to some private companies to keep them going, even soon after they paid a generous dividend to their shareholders.

They also keep giving millions of pounds to SERCO and other companies who have done such a bad job of test and trace, that now more millions are being given to private consultants to help them improve.

That is transferring taxpayers’ money to a few pockets.

What we need is to use taxpayers’ money to protect the public at large, to provide training, good jobs and housing to youngsters and to deal with climate change.
