YET MORE reasons to be glad that we're leaving the European Union.

Our government will shortly be scrapping the EU directive that prevents retailers from offering cashback without a purchase.

That's right: Brussels actually decreed that a shop could not offer to let you withdraw cash unless you'd bought something.

While this may only be relevant to a minority of people, whose local ATMs have disappeared, the fact that such a ruling was imposed at all is bizarre.

I also learned this week that the EU is going to ban veggie food-products from having meat-product names, i.e. 'sausage', 'burger' and 'cheese alternative'.

This will be enshrined in the Common Agricultural Policy from 2023.

Such petty tyrannies are excellent examples of why we voted to TAKE BACK Control!
