Over recent years I have become increasingly upset by the over generous use of the compliment "hero".
I have always thought that the word described someone who went belong the expected and, in particular, risked their life to save others and I do not want that belief to be undermined.
Now today I see that the chief executive of Deliveroo Will Shu is quoted in the Daily Echo as saying that his "riders are heroes".
Really ?
