SIR: Residents in Cheriton Road are going to miss the brilliant team from Hampshire Highways who have been working hard for the last three months to repair our pavements.
They have done a wonderful job with great care and consideration for the residents. The road closure has bought us a welcome break from the horrendous traffic congestion we suffer at the beginning and end of the school day. It’s not only congestion but the indifference shown to residents and children alike as parents/carers collect their children from the Westgate Schools.
We are hoping that after all the hard work put into getting Cheriton Road pavements in order, equal consideration be given to managing the school-generated traffic and the safety of the children walking our now immaculate pavements. Thank you Hampshire Highways, come back anytime!
