TWO areas in Winchester City Centre have the joint highest number of coronavirus cases than anywhere else in the district.

According to data from between October 10 and 17, Winchester Central and South, and Winchester North and Sparsholt both have 14 current cases.

Winchester East, which the previous week had 14 cases, now has fewer than three.

The map shown is based on Public Health England figures, and it breaks down positive cases by Middle Super Output Areas (MSOA) in England (small areas with an average population of around 7,200).

Hampshire Chronicle:

The Winchester City Council district is split into 14 areas

In Oliver's Battery and Hursley, 11 cases have been reported.

Winchester West and Denmead both have nine cases.

Each of these four areas: Springvale and Itchen Abbas; Whiteley, Wickham, Knowle; Colden Common an Twyford; and Bishop's Waltham and Waltham Chase have six cases.

For all four, this is a decline when compared to data from the week before.

Stanmore only has four reported cases, as does Swanmore and Hambledon.

In South Wonston, Sutton Scotney and Micheldever, only three cases have been registered between the specified time frame.

Alresford has reported fewer than three, which means a specific number is not given.

The map is based on lab confirmed positive cases of coronavirus.

Date is updated every week or so and shows the latest seven days for which near-complete data are available.
