A MEMBER of the school community at a Southampton school has tested positive for Covid-19.
The school in Shirley, which has over 600 pupils, confirmed the case in a letter to parents yesterday.
The headteacher has said that staff are monitoring the situation and working with Public Health England.
Children who were in close contact with the individual have received a letter telling them to isolate for 14 days.
Headteacher Sean Taylor said: "We have been made aware of a member of our school community who have tested positive for COVID 19.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well."
