CHRISTMAS will have a different look in Bournemouth this year as the ‘Alpine Village Bar’ has a new open-air design.

The Bournemouth Christmas Market will include a large stretch tent and bookable ‘igloo domes’ for up to six people to help accommodate for the coronavirus restrictions.

A post on the Bournemouth Christmas Market Facebook page said: “Our Christmas market will have 20 chalet stalls spread through Bournemouth Square including local gifts and crafts, and our hot food options include the fantastic eight metre tall giant Christmas Tree, feature Bratwurst stall, a UK award winner Yorkshire wraps stall, churros, Christmas crepes and luxury hot chocolates.

“The ice rink will not be in place for 2020, and nor will the Christmas Tree Wonderland, but we will have the Bethlehem Christmas Tree in the Square for all visitors to admire.

“We are an outdoor retail attraction and have made many steps to follow all Covid-19 guidelines, and our guests will be reminded of all guidelines at all times during their visit.

“We encourage all visitors to look out for another and follow all government guidelines throughout their visit.”

The Alpine Village will be brought to the town by BCP Council and Seventa Events.

Simon Brooks, of Seventa, said: “Bournemouth Christmas will look a little different for 2020, we all know that.

“But we are working hard to bring together our plans for the new 2020 Alpine Bar.

“Take a look at the visual, we’ve got, brand new for Bournemouth, private Igloo Domes for groups of up to six people, a large stretch tent area, and outdoor open-air seating.”

Booking is now open for the igloo domes and cost £60 per dome.

The bookings are for 90 minute slots and includes full table service and an arrival drink of the customer’s choice.

Customers who want to stay longer can book consecutive slots.

In order to comply with coronavirus restrictions, guests are required to arrive in groups of no more than six and they will not be permitted to mix with other tables.

Track and trace data will be taken from guests on arrival and a “zero tolerance” policy is in operation with regards to abuse to staff.

Bookings can be made on https://www.exploretock.com/seventaevents/ from November 13 until January 2. Groups of two to six people are permitted in the domes.
