A homebuilding company has donated to an Arts group that aims to improve children’s wellbeing through music and dance classes.

Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, which operates from 24 bases around the UK, donated £250 to Jiggy Wrigglers in Whiteley and praised their “fantastic” classes which allow families to spend “quality time” together.

The funding will go towards the cost of hall hire and updating their collection of props.

Jiggy Wrigglers run mixed age (0-5 years) and baby groups (0-12 month) throughout the week for children in Whiteley and Locks Heath.

Families are invited to come to the classes together to sing and share quality time together.

Sara Haynes, franchise owner of Jiggy Wrigglers, Whiteley, said: “We are so thankful to Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties for their generous donation, especially during these difficult times.

“It will be fantastic to be able to purchase some new props, so the children have new activities to play with when the classes restart.

“Our classes are not only for children, we also have parents, grandparents and childminders all joining in with our upbeat music and movement groups and we cannot wait to get back running as soon as we can.”

Roz Wells, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “During lockdown, we all have realised how important quality time is with our families and Jiggy Wrigglers, Whiteley is a fantastic class that the whole family can get involved in.

“One of our core values is to invest in the local communities in which we build, which is especially important given the current climate.

“We’re proud to be able to support Jiggy Wrigglers, Whiteley in its mission to improve adults and children’s wellbeing through music and dance.”
