A SOUTHAMPTON woman has been spared a driving ban because of the impact on her baby and her mental health.
Jessyleigh Gallagher, 25, of Redbridge Hill, was found guilty of driving with no insurance in a 15-reg Ford Focus on Redbridge Hill on December 14 last year.
The conviction put her over the points numbers that would trigger a driving ban but the magistrates decided not to disqualify her. They heard about "exceptional hardship, the impact on the newborn baby and to the mental health of the defendant."
Instead she was given six penalty points, fined £140 with a £32 victim surcharge and £50 costs.
