Sir Sean Connery has died at the age of 90, his family has announced.

The Scottish actor was best known for his role as James Bond. He was the first to bring Ian Fleming's spy to life.

Sir Sean appeared as Bond six times - and a notable seventh time in the film Never Say Never Again which was not made by the same studio.

His final Bond film with Eon Productions was Diamonds Are Forever in 1971, a film which was partly filmed in Southampton Docks.

The docks proved to be the perfect setting as the gallery above shows.
