A VIOLENT thug unleashed a torrent of abuse at his ex-partner while holding her by the hair.

Jamie Clarkson started “headbutting” his victim’s bedroom door and then pushed her over.

The 41-year-old walked into the kitchen “covered in blood” and smashed a glass during the domestic violence attack on July 13 last year.

Prosecution barrister, Rob Griffiths told how the KFC worker of Percy Road, Southampton, then grabbed the woman by the throat and pulled her outside her Salisbury home.

Daily Echo:

She felt a sharp pain in her forearm and saw an “open wound”.

The woman said she could see muscle, blood and what she thought was bone.

It is believed she caught her arm on a Yale lock when being pulled through a doorway.

When police arrived there was “something of a melee” with Clarkson threatening the officers.

He tried to headbutt one and struck another in the face with his open hand.

Hurling racist abuse, he was even fitted with a spit hood.

A victim impact read out in court said how the woman said she would be scarred for life because of his behaviour.

Clarkson appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Friday charged with GBH, assaulting an emergency worker and racially abusing a police officer - he previously pleaded guilty.

He was previously jailed in February for a vicious attack against the same woman in November during which he headbutted her and threatening to smash her car.

Defending, Tom Evans told how Clarkson has issues with alcohol and substances.

He argued he had been impacted by his parents’ alcoholism and “needs to sort his life out”.

During sentencing, Judge Nicholas Rowland said there was the prospect of rehabilitation but warned it was a particularly “close

shave”.

He was jailed for 15-months, suspended for two years. He must complete six-months of drug rehabilitation and 15 rehabilitation activity days.
