A DOCUMENTARY about mental health created by a university graduate has now been released.

'Braking the Cycle' is a documentary about how cycling can improve your mental health created by Solent University graduate, Harrison Read.

Harrison who studied BA (Hons) Sports Journalism, created the documentary over 10 days, interviewing several cyclists who have seen the benefit cycling has had on their lives.

The film is half an hour long and since being launched on Youtube, it has been promoted by Cycling UK during their online lockdown awards ceremony.

Harrison said: "The idea was to film this and get the message out their that cycling can improve your wellbeing.

"Cycling UK got in touch really loved the film and they were doing their lockdown awards ceremony online, and during their awards ceremony they launched it for me.

"It's been really good. People who I don't even know have been messaging me and asking to share it.

"A lot of people within the mental health services have got in touch with me to ask to spread it out to their patients."

The documentary was released to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

Harrison is now looking for his next project and says it has to be something that is going to make a difference to other people.
