EMERGENCY services rushed to Itchen Bridge last night to reports of a woman sat on railings.
Police raced to Itchen Bridge at around 5.30pm after a woman was spotted sitting on the railings.
The woman was later detained under the mental health act.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 5.33pm on 2 November to reports of a concern for welfare after a woman was seen sat on the railings of the Itchen Bridge, Southampton.
"Officers attended and the incident was resolved. The woman was detained under the Mental Health Act and transferred into the appropriate care."
