A FIREARMS investigation has been launched following reports of a man shooting from a Southampton home.

Police raced to Portswood Road following reports of an air gun being fired.

Officers seized a BB gun and arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with incidents between 8.14pm on Monday, November 2 and 3am on Tuesday, November 3.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

However, has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

Police are now appealing to witnesses to help them with their investigation.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have information.
