BREWERS Wadworth have announced the sale of two of Ringwood's best-known pubs.

The High Corner Inn and the Fish Inn are among 21 pubs sold to the Liberation Group.

The Goat & Tricycle and Dean Park Inn in Bournemouth, as well as the Avon Causeway in Christchurch, are also included in the deal. The pubs have been sold to the Liberation Group - owners of Butcombe Brewing Co - for an undisclosed sum. Contracts have been exchanged. In a statement released today, Wadworth said there will be a "seamless transition" and said it is "in no doubt that these pubs will continue to thrive." Charles Bartholomew, Chairman of Wadworth said: "I can confirm that we have exchanged contracts to sell 21 pubs to the Liberation Group. We are working with our teams in each pub to enable the seamless transition to Liberation to take place over the next four weeks. "I would like to sincerely thank all of our people in these 21 pubs for their significant contribution to Wadworth over many years. All Wadworth employees in the Managed sites will transfer to Liberation. I am in no doubt that these pubs will continue to thrive under their new ownership and remain central to the local communities that they serve." The remainder of the 21 pubs are the Badminton Arms, near Bristol the Beehive at Caterton, the Bird in Hand in Reading, the Cotswold Gateway in Burford, the Crown Tolldown in Dyrham, the Fleet in Tewkesbury, the Fleur De Lys near Bath, the Fox and Hounds in Theale, the George Norton St Philip near Bath, Hadley Bowling Green, the Kings Arms Hotel in Melksham, the Mill in Haslemere, the Penny in Bristol, the Victoria Arms in Old Marston and the White Hart in Wroughton.
