A JAGGED blade has been found 'hidden' in a Southampton recreational ground.
Officers from Southampton North Neighbourhood carried out a "knife sweep" yesterday (November 10) across an area of Southampton.
Working with Southampton City Council Welfare Officers, they searched along Portswood High Street , Daisy Dip, Leaside Way Play Park and surrounding areas and alleyways.
During the searches, officers were able to locate a long, jagged blade that had been 'hidden'.
Police also visited a young person in the area to educate them on the risk of carrying knives or weapons for their own protection.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson said: "During our searches, a knife has been located that had been hidden.
"We have also visited a young person to educate them on the risk of carrying knives or weapons for their own protection."
