An Eastleigh man has been selected as a finalist in a Universities '30 under 30' list.

Bournemouth Universities Alumni Relations Team put out a call to find the brightest young graduates (aged 29 and under) for their inaugural 30 under 30 campaign.

Nathaniel Hawley, 29, who is from Eastleigh and previously studied at both Eastleigh College and Barton Perveril Sixth Form College, was selected for the list from thousands of students for his high standards of innovation, creativity, impact and sustainability.

Nathaniel works as a neurodiversity champion and advocates for people with learning differences, such as autism, which has led to him being nominated for a Pride of Britain Award and recognised by The Prince of Wales.

Helped and inspired by the support he received while at University, he became a social-entrepreneur, workforce development trainer and neurodiversity media expert, working with media outlets including the BBC and Universal Music.

Through his role as Head of Community at a social enterprise Exceptional Individuals, he has established partnerships across broadcast, law, education, and the third sector to offer neurodivergent young people greater opportunities.

He is also a trustee for two charities, founder of a global youth project and recently a partner at Forbes Ignite.

He said: "I'm very grateful to be selected because it gives a stronger platform for neurodiversity.

"I found out by email and I was a bit surprised as I graduated back in 2014.

"The learning support team at the university are second to none and they really inspired me to get to where I am today."

The final line-up in the list represents a wealth of talent across a diverse range of sectors including health, marketing and advertising, journalism and finance.
