A NEIGHBOUR from hell threatened to kill a woman’s baby and left his victims terrified.

Aaron Callaway held all-night parties through lockdown and claimed to be in the mafia.

The 39-year-old window fitter yelled that he would knife people at his flat in Unity Court, Southampton Road, Eastleigh.

Daily Echo:

His “appalling behaviour” from April to September this year left his neighbours feeling miserable and unsafe.

He hurled abuse at a woman in a lift calling her baby a brat and threatening to kill the little boy on August 30, a court heard.

Prosecution barrister, Rob Griffiths, told how the woman had been trying to get her son to sleep but could not because of noise coming from Callaway’s apartment.

Now living at his mother’s home in The Riddings, Bishopstoke he appeared at Southampton Crown Court charged with using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress, possession of crack cocaine and harassment that would cause fear of violence. He pleaded guilty to all offences.

Daily Echo:

Mr Griffiths said how on May 30, Callaway called 999 saying people were in his home stealing his keys and a man was hiding in his television. When officers arrived they found Callaway with a wrap of crack cocaine and a Red Bull can believed to have been used as a pipe.

He has 22 offences to 15 convictions which include drink driving, failing to provide a specimen and arson.

Defending, Richard Martin, argued his client has issues with substances and needed help from probation services.

Mr Martin added that Callaway supports his 19-year-old son and an immediate sentence would significantly harm others.

Mr Recorder Barry McElduff jailed him for six months suspended for 18 months. He must complete 20 days of rehabilitation and 100 hours of unpaid work. Callaway has been given a five-year restraining order against two neighbours and must pay them £500 each.
