I read with sadness that Labour run Croydon council is facing bankruptcy.

My sadness is for its residents and loyal employees who have been so badly let down by its councillors.

We are fortunate in that Hampshire County Council has ignored the calls of local Liberal Democrat councillors, who thankfully are a minority in the council, to take risks by making speculative investments just like Croydon.

Fortunately Hampshire County Council has maintained a healthy reserve which will help see it through the current Covid-19 crisis.
