SIX more coronavirus deaths have been registered in hospitals in Hampshire in the last 24 hours.

A further three people have died within the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust and three at Portsmouth Hospital.

The figures for Southampton Hospital, the Southern NHS Trust and Solent NHS Trust remain at 224, 18 and three respectively, bringing the total in the county's hospitals since the start of the pandemic to 710.

A total of 316 deaths of people in hospitals in England who tested positive for Covid-19 were revealed today bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 38,112.

Patients were aged between 28 and 102 years old. All except five (aged 64-96) had known underlying health conditions.

The highest death toll was in the North East and Yorkshire at 84 with 75 in the North West, 72 in the Midlands, 29 in the South West, 20 in London and 18 in each of the South East and East of England.
