A MAN has been jailed for more than 100 days after slashing the tyre of a police car.
Martin Gary Alder appeared before court after he damaged the tyre of a police vehicle on Cranbury Avenue in Southampton on November 19.
The 32-year-old was also found to be carrying a knife.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of damaging the tyre of a police vehicle intending to cause damage, and one count of carrying a bladed article in a public place.
Alder of Coltsfoot Square, Oxford, was jailed for 180 days and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.
The knife was seized by the police.
