A MAN who stole more than £60 worth of household goods from Poundland has been jailed for his use of abusive language.

Lee Robert Palmer used threatening and abuse language towards a person causing to to believe violence would be used against him on August 20.

The 43-year-old then stole various household items from Poundland in Gosport worth £66 on August 16.

Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a person, one count of using threatening and abusive behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person, and one count of theft.

Palmer, of no fixed address, was jailed for a total of 21 days.
