IT IS the Isle of Wight's equivalent of the Coca-Cola truck rolling into town: the day Corries Cabin announces what food it is battering for the festive season.
The Cowes based chip shop has now announced this year's instalment of festive fare for its menu.
The battered sprouts have returned after receiving widespread plaudits over in recent years, with people enquiring about them from as early as this summer.
As well as the always popular sprouts, festive foods from previous years have included battered pigs in blankets and battered turkey and stuffing rolls.
Manager, Derrel Mooney, said: “It has been a really tough year for everyone, so we are happy to add a little seasonal joy with the return our Christmas menu.
"The usual favourites are there, but the newbie this year is the battered mince pie, which is surprisingly good!”
Despite the lockdown, the shop has continued to 'match' donations that would have been raised if the restaurant were able to open.
More than £1,200 has been given to the foodbank, with any customer donations added to the total.
