Things are not looking good for Floating Bridge 6 again, with the left side hydraulic ram being removed today.
The County Press reported earlier today that the ill-fated chain ferry was again out of action with hyraulics issues.
Now, a CP reader has sent us pictures showing a worker looking at the ram and further images showing it had been removed.
The pictures also show only one Jenny boat (The Jenny Lee) in action, with a Folly berthing master's vessel drafted in as a makeshift replacement.
This morning the Isle of Wight Council said: "Unfortunately we have no option but to suspend the Cowes floating bridge service this morning (Friday) while engineers investigate an hydraulic oil leak.
"We have arranged for a replacement foot passenger launch to operate and will work closely with our contractors to resume the service as quickly as possible.
"We wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
