TEMPERATURES are set to plunge this week and experts say that we're likely to see hail, sleet and snow across the county on Saturday.
In light of this, we remember when Saints trained on a brilliant blanket of white.
Manny local children may have had the day off school and some adult may even have enjoyed the privilege of a snow day – but that certainly wasn’t the case for Saints FC.
Lawrie McMenemy’s squad took to Southampton Common in the snow to take part in rigorous training on January 3, 1979.
They slipped and slid on the white stuff as they honed their skills amid the chill.
