The current objections to airport expansion from the Bitterne Park area are a little illogical. The expansion is ,as I understand,to the northern end of the runway. This means that aircraft departing south will start their take off run earlier and possibly leave the ground earlier therefore being higher over Bitterne Park, Improvements in jet technology probably result in no more or even less pollution both in emissions and noise. Aircraft taking off north will result in no difference to prior nuisance. The extension is required as a safety measure by the CAA not necessarily as a requirement of the larger more efficient aircraft.,I note that there has been little comment from Twyford, Allbrook, Bishopstoke residents, those that might be affected. I speak as a close
