PLANNING chiefs in the New Forest have seen one of their decisions overturned.
An appeal was lodged after the district council rejected an application relating to a property at Pegasus Avenue in Hordle.
The applicants had sought consent for "roof alterations in association with first floor accommodation".
Now government-appointed planning inspector Martin Allen has quashed the council's decision.
His report says: "The proposed increase in height of the property would be readily apparent from the road. However, the shallow pitch and general form of the roof would be retained.
"The scheme would retain the characteristic attributes that the property shares with its neighbours.
"The increase in the height of the dwelling would not result in it being an overly dominant or incongruous feature."
