More than 200 businesses have benefited from almost £325k in financial support following the second lockdown.

The national Local Restrictions Support Grant, which is being paid out by Eastleigh Borough Council, supports businesses that were open as usual, but were required to close due to restrictions.

Businesses may be eligible if they occupy property on which they pay business rates, have been required to close because of local restrictions and has been able to provide its usual in-person customer service.

Local leaders are now encouraging all businesses who have not yet applied, to do so.

Cabinet Lead for the Economy, Councillor Derek Pretty, said: “During these difficult times we’re so pleased to again be able to help businesses in the Borough by ensuring they are getting all the support they can.

"These businesses contribute a great deal to our local economy and we want to see them continuing to trade successfully in the future.”
