A positive case of coronavirus meant all of the Bay CE's year five pupils were asked to self isolate, yesterday (Thursday), as a precaution.

The school remains open to other year groups.

In a letter to parents, the school said, "We have been made aware that we have a confirmed positive case of coronavirus within our Bay CE Primary site community.

"As a precautionary measure, until thorough track and trace can be conducted, we asked all Year 5 pupils to remain at home."

The school says it has followed the national guidance and is working with Public Health England.

It follows recent cases at Ryde Academy and Medina College, although in those cases, no-one was required to isolate, due to the timescales of the positive tests.
