ON JUNE 1 2018, Alison Jones went for a run in Bramley on her 49th birthday and, since then, she's gone for a run every single day to raise money for charity.
On February 24 2021, Alison will set off on her 1000th consecutive run: K-day.
She has decided to use the countdown to that milestone to support a charity that's close to her heart, The National Literacy Trust which works with the UK's most deprived communities to improve the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of children and young people
Alison said: "Literacy completely changes someone's life chances and, now more than ever, I wanted to support that work.
"It's not just life-changing for the children and young people themselves, it's a great investment for us as a society."
Alison has invited people to sponsor a day in her final 100-day countdown, and many have already submitted a special request for 'their' day - from emotional tributes to loved ones, a cartwheel, sliding down a muddy slope and even learning to floss.
There are still several days up for grabs, so if you want to dedicate a day to someone special or give Alison something silly to do,you can sponsor her at: justgiving.com/fundraising/alison-jones1000.
