A BUSY Hampshire roundabout will be partly closing tonight for the rest of the week.

Maypole Roundabout - a main route in and out of Hedge End - will be closing from 8pm tonight until Friday evening for a few days of overnight work.

Parts Woodhouse Lane and Grange Road in Botley will both be closed from 8pm to 6am until December 11.

The closures will be in place at Maypole Roundabout carriageway between Grange Road and Woodhouse Lane.

The roadworks will start tonight, and are being carried out by Hampshire County Council.

The Council will be closing the roads as part of a highway improvement programme in the local area.

Workers will be carrying out carriageway surfacing and putting in road markings.

Two diversion routes will be in place, which has been mapped out and planned by Hampshire County Council.

For motorists wishing to use Grange Road, head south-west on Lower Northam Road towards Birch Road and continue onto B3036.

At the roundabout, thate the fourth exit onto Charles Watts Way and keep right to remain on Charles Watts Way.

At the roundabout, take the second exit and stay on Grange Road.

This diversion route is estimated to add an additional eight minutes onto journey time.

For traffic wishing to use Woodhouse Lane, head north-east on Maypole Roundabout and exit the roundabout onto Broad Oak A334.

Continue to follow the A334 and then turn left onto Winchester Street, before turning left onto Woodhouse Lane.

This diversion is estimated to take an additional seven minutes.

The road will be closing tonight at 8pm, and will re-open tomorrow at 6am.
