A FORMER office space could be transformed into a new tattoo studio should plans be approved by civic chiefs.

Plans to turn an office space on High Street in Southampton have been submitted to Southampton City Council.

The building was a former accountant office and is currently empty.

The plans have been submitted by Archie Cook, an award-winning tattoo artist and owner of Kookie Tattoo in Ringwood.

Mr Cook started tattooing at nine-years-old and was mentored by his father, Matt Cook.

Throughout his teenage years, Mr Cook was recognised by multiple magazines for his work.

He has won various awards for his work in different categories across England, and has eve tattooed international footballers.

Mr Cook set up Kookie Tattoo in 2017, but has now submitted plans for a new shop in the centre of Southampton.

Working along side Mr Cook is resident junior artists Cameron Slaven, permanent guest artist Efthimis Vrettos, permanent guest artist Jun Young Lee, resident piercing artist Beth George and a number of guest artists.

Should the plans be approved, four new jobs will be created in the area.

If approved, the shop will join a number or other tattoo parlours in the area including Asgard, Studio 13, Tattoo Monkey, Rock N Roll Tattoo, Titanic Tattoo and Piercing and many more.

A decision is yet to be made on the plans by Southampton City Council.
