MORE top acts were today added to the bill for the Isle of Wight Festival 2008.

Lily Allen, The Enemy, James, Kate Nash, Iggy and The Stooges and KT Tunstall will take to the stage during the three-day event on June 13, 14 and 15.

They join headliners Kaiser Chiefs, Sex Pistols and The Police, Sex Pistols and Kaiser Chiefs, who wre previously revealed by the Daily Echo.

Lily Allen has just earned herself a Grammy Award nomination for her debut album Alright, Still, which adds to the string of nominations for NME Awards, Brit Awards, Q Awards and MTV Awards she's already received this year.

The Enemy are another act that firmly made their mark on the music scene this year, with the release of their debut album We'll Live and Die in These Towns which went straight to the number one spot. The Best New Act Q Award winners recently supported The Rolling Stones.

One of the biggest bands of the 1990s, James were part of the infamous Madchester movement and are best known for their hit single Sit Down.

Influential punk rockers Iggy and The Stooges are notorious for their wild onstage antics as they perform classics such Lust For Life and No Fun.

Iggy Pop said: "We are proud to follow in the footsteps of The Doors and Hendrix - God bless the Isle of Wight.

Singer songwriter KT Tunstall is the 2007 Brit Award winner of Best British Female Solo Artist.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport. Tickets went on sale this morning.
