TODAY'S performances of Mayflower Theatre's panto Sleeping Beauty have been cancelled.
Theatre bosses had to take the unusual step, less than an hour before the 2pm matinee of the show, due to the "indisposition of cast members and the nature of the socially distanced production".
The show, starring funnyman Joe Pasquale and Birds of a Feather actress Lesley Joseph, was due to enjoy its press performance tonight after opening for previews on Saturday.
A spokesman said: "On behalf of Qdos Pantomimes and Mayflower Theatre we are incredibly sorry for the disappointment this will have caused and we thank you for your amazing support in these challenging times."
All customers affected by the cancelled shows will be contacted and offered a refund.
An update on future performances will be given as soon as possible.
