TRAVELLERS are facing misery as the railway between Southampton and Bournemouth.

Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Southampton Central and Bournemouth all lines are blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised, according to South Western Railway.

The disruption was initially expected to last until 10am, however it is now due to last until the end of Sunday, December 27. 

Replacement buses are in operation between Southampton and Bournemouth.

The Lymington Pier to Brockenhurst line is also blocked are trains are unable to reach this line.

A statement on the operator's website says: "For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."

It comes after Storm Bella lashed the South Coast last night and early this morning.

An amber warning for wind was issued with the Met Office predicting disruption to travel and utilities over parts of England today.
