PLANS to create a wildlife pond in the New Forest National Park have been withdrawn by the applicant.
The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) is no longer studying an application relating to a site near Summer Cottage in Summer Lane, Exbury.
An objection had been lodged by the NPA's landscape officer.
The officer said: "The lined nature of the pond - gravel edges with stone holding down the liner - is much more suited to a domestic setting than an open field.
"The depth of the proposed pond at 1.4 metres is much deeper than typical small water
bodies in the New Forest.
"I would be concerned about deer and other wildlife falling in and not being able to get out."
