A MAN has been charged with drug importation offences.
Following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), working alongside Hampshire Constabulary, Gwent Constabulary, Border Force and the National Crime Agency, a second man has been charged.
Medi Cenmurati, 27, of Fenner Brockway Close, Newport, Wales was arrested on Tuesday, December 22, and was charged on Wednesday.
He was charged with one count of being concerned in supply of cocaine between 30 November and 5 December; one count of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property; and one count of possessing or dealing in goods the importation or exportation of which is prohibited or restricted, with intent to evade any such prohibition or restriction.
The charges are in connection with the search of a container at Southampton Docks by Border Force on Monday 30 November.
Cenmurati appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on 24 December, where he was remanded, and the next hearing is set for 13 January at Southampton Crown Court.
