POLICE launched a major crackdown on drug dealing across Hampshire today.

More than 100 officers continued the force's war on drugs when they swooped on addresses in the New Forest early today.

A total of eight warrants were issued, which saw eight people arrested.

Officers involved in the raids were drawn from across the county and the operation involved the force's dog unit and specialist teams although no fire arms officers were used.

The operation followed nine months of intelligence-led investigations by Hampshire police's priority crime unit.

All the raids were in connection with the distribution of class A drugs.

Details of any drugs seized and which addresses were raided were expected to be released by Hampshire police later today.
