A SOUTHAMPTON teenager who stole a motorbike and bicycles from university accommodation has been handed a rehabilitation order.

A 17-year-old Southampton boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, entered Chantry Halls of residence on March Lane on November 20, 2019.

On June 19 last year, the boy stole a Royal Enfield motorbike and side-car from Hedge End.

The motorbike was driven down Tollbar Way where it was crash and damaged. Bolt cutters were seized at the scene.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, the boy pleaded guilty to one count of theft, one count of taking a vehicle without consent, and one count of riding without insurance.

The 17-year-old was handed a youth rehabilitation order and was disqualified from holding a licence for two years.

He was also fined £100.
