A MOTORWAY was closed yesterday after police recieved reports of concern for a persons safety.

Police were called to the incident between Junction 8 (Bursledon/Hamble) and Junction 9 (Segensworth/Fareham) at 5.30pm yesterday.

Boh carriageways were shut 'as a precaution' as officers and Highways England undertook a search of the area. 

No one was found in the search and traffic was released again at around 6.30pm
