A TOTAL of 26 deaths have been recorded across Hampshire in a 24-hour period.

Figures published by NHS England today (January 14) have revealed that a further 26 coronavirus patients have died in 24 hours.

This brings the county's overall total up to 1,177 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March.

A further 15 deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust in the last 24 hours, bringing the Trust's total up to 55.

At Hampshire Hospitals Trust, nine more deaths were recorded in 24 hours, bringing the total number up to 295 deaths.

At University Hospital Southampton, there were two new deaths recorded bringing to total to 291 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

No other deaths were recorded at any of the county's other Trusts.

Solent NHS Trust remains at four deaths and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust remains at 30.
