STAFF at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust were treated after a man spent £60 on hot drinks for staff.
The man left the money as a thank you for the hard work the staff have been putting in during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr Tristan Richardson, UHD’s medical director for medicine, said: “Covid really can the bring out the best in people, this was really appreciated and brought a tear to my eye during a really long and difficult shift on Sunday.
“Public support really does mean a lot to staff at UHD and makes a huge difference.
“I also had colleagues contacting me offering to come in and help when they heard about the steep rise in numbers of Covid patients across our two sites over the weekend.
“Thanks to all for this and for following the national lockdown which will help benefit us all across UHD as well.”
