A MAN has been excluded from entering areas of Southampton after theft and assault of an emergency worker.

A 46-year-old man has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order excluding him from entering a number of locations across Southampton.

This comes after he admitted to a number of charges, including theft and assault of an emergency worker.

Malcolm John McPherson Bennet, aged 46, of no fixed abode was given the order for two years effective from 31 December 2020.

He is excluded from entering several locations across Southampton including; Above Bar, Below Bar, High Street, London Road, Bedford Place, West Quay, West Quay Retail Park, The City Parks and an area covering the Bargate ward of Southampton City Centre.

He pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates Court to a number of offences including assaulting an emergency service worker, failing to surrender, breach of post-sentence supervision and four counts of theft.

He was convicted at Southampton Magistrates Court on January 6.
