A TOTAL of 20 deaths have been recorded across Hampshire in a 24-hour period.

Figures published by NHS England today (January 15) have revealed that a further 20 coronavirus patients have died in 24 hours.

This brings the county's overall total up to 1,185 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March.

A further 12 deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust in the last 24 hours, bringing the Trust's total up to 557.

At University Hospital Southampton, there were six new deaths recorded bringing to total to 297 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

At Hampshire Hospitals Trust, two more deaths were recorded in 24 hours, bringing the total number up to 297 deaths.

No other deaths were recorded at any of the county's other Trusts.
Solent NHS Trust remains at four deaths and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust remains at 30.
