A man has been charged with multiple offences following an incident in Southampton which police have said was "racially aggravated."
Shortly after 1pm on January 12, police responded to reports of a public order incident at Tesco on London Road.
When police arrived, Ross McFarlane, 34, assaulted an officer, who suffered a minor injury to his arm.
McFarlane, of Millbrook Road East, was charged with; racially aggravated threatening or abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment alarm or distress, criminal damage and assault of an emergency worker.
He has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on February 4.
