THEY were the youngsters that earned an experience not even money could buy.
The 2001 Soccer Challenge welcomed record numbers of teams from various schools taking part in a six-a-side football tournament.
The event was sponsored by the Southern Daily Echo, BMW Scotthall Hampshire and Southampton Football Club.
These pictures show youngsters that made it to the finals held at the then-home of Saints, The Dell.
