More than 1,100 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire in the last 24-hours, as Southampton surpasses 10,000 since the start of the pandemic.
Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website at 5pm today (January 16) - show that 1,148 more people have tested positive for the virus in a 24 hour period.
In that period, Southampton recorded 177 new cases, meaning the city has now recorded 10,019 positive tests since the pandemic began last March.
Across Hampshire, there has been a total of 67,268 positive tests.
Below are the confirmed cases by local authority on January 16:
- Basingstoke and Deane: 163 (5,948 in total since start of pandemic)
- East Hampshire: 55 (3,679)
- Eastleigh: 54 (4,017)
- Fareham: 52 (3,764)
- Gosport: 51 (2,632)
- Hart: 59 (3,336)
- Havant: 85 (5,487)
- New Forest: 75 (4,402)
- Portsmouth: 137 (10,608)
- Rushmoor: 138 (5,916)
- Southampton: 177 (10,019)
- Test Valley: 63 (3,648)
- Winchester: 39 (3,812)
