MORE than 900 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire in the past 24 hours.
Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website at 4pm today (January 17) - show that 973 more people have tested positive for the virus in a 24-hour period.
In that period, Southampton recorded 137 new cases, meaning the city has now recorded 10,156 positive tests since the pandemic began last March.
Across Hampshire, there has been a total of 68,241 positive tests.
Below are the confirmed cases by each local authority level on January 17:
- Basingstoke and Deane: 86 (6,034 in total since start of pandemic)
- East Hampshire: 38 (3,717)
- Eastleigh: 85 (4,102)
- Fareham: 42 (3,806)
- Gosport: 24 (2,656)
- Hart: 90 (3,426)
- Havant: 56 (5,543)
- New Forest: 76 (4,478)
- Portsmouth: 114 (10,722)
- Rushmoor: 115 (6,031)
- Southampton: 137 (10,156)
- Test Valley: 58 (3,706)
- Winchester: 52 (3,864)
