A WOMAN suffering from depression was found hanged at her home, an inquest was told.
Ann Girling, 59, of Austen Close, Totton, was a recluse who rejected offers of help from her son and daughter.
She had attempted to take her own life on previous occasions, starting with an overdose in 2010.
Last March she was taken to hospital after taking another overdose.
Coroner Jason Pegg said welfare concerns resulted in a police officer visiting her home a few days later. He looked through the letterbox and saw her body.
He added: “Ann had a loving and supportive family but led a very reclusive existence. She didn’t seem to want help.”
The coroner recorded a conclusion of suicide.
